ABOUT US

Already founded in 2007 pastor dr. Gerhard Schnitzspahnthe DOOR project. The acronym D.O.O.R. for DEEP ORGAN ON ROCK. For those who know the rock music scene, the proximity to the epoch-making album "DEEP PURPLE IN ROCK" by the group DEEP PURPLE is obvious. In the meantime, the D.O.O.R. project has succeeded in opening a door between old and new music and its instruments. The project is breaking new ground in the field of church music. The project found a congenial addition four years later, when the rocking priest met the concert organistBernhardt Brand-Hofmeistermet and was able to win him for the position of church musician in his community. Together with the founding member and drummer Thomas Chur the three musicians developed the concept and profile of the project, which has now grown to nine permanent members and additional guest musicians.
The D.O.O.R. - Project from Darmstadt combines three classics into a new experience: The classic instrument of the  Church music - the organ - and in church circles  classically appreciated trombone and wind choirs with the instruments of rock music classics like  Deep Purple, Chicago, The Doors or Santana! The fusion of rock band, trombone choir and church organ has selected pieces that are characterized by their virtuoso wind instruments. and organ arrangements for it  are particularly suitable. The vocal melodies of the very different works  are replaced by saxophone, flute and other wind instruments. In this way, a powerful listening and sound experience is created, typically as a multimedia concert with live camera transmission and slide show in the  Church room offered, which after Jesus Christ as  the "House on the Rock" applies.
With this impressive musical crossover  The D.O.O.R. project has been inspiring for years  Lovers of organ and rock music with its sacred  sonority.
